When promoting your site, marketing is the most important thing. When building your brand and customer loyalty we notice, that we use all the same tools.
As Open Forum writes: “Branding. We’re done with that word. Instead, focus your efforts on expressing your identity fully and freely. Concentrate on transferring your passion to others. Make what you sell a natural extension of your personality. It won’t feel or look like branding, and as such, people will buy it. When was the last time you updated your brand identity?”
Dane Carlson in his blog adds that marketing is often seen as a stressful, out of control, chaotic sort of aspect to business. He believes that this is due to most people not fully understanding the concept of marketing and where to locate great resources to help them.
He’s sure that, if you understand your marketing concept and have access to the right resources for help, marketing is really not that bad.
In his article he gives some of the most common mistakes made in marketing for you to avoid in the future:
1.Using adjectives on your website. Adjectives are pretty useless when you think about it, they are statements of what you “hope” to do, what you “hope” to accomplish. Rather, try providing testimonials proving that you have accomplished several things as well as helped several hundred people with their needs.
2.Putting all the spotlight on customers. Customers are good yes, but what you should be concentrating on is your FANS. These are the people that are die hard customers coming into your business all the time for years and years, the kind of people that spread the word about your company like wild fire!
Scott Ginsberg in his turn adds some more marketing mistakes you might make:
3.Arrow. If you’re still operating on the old school model, you’re probably shooting a LOT of arrows. “Target Marketing,” as you call it. Ha! What a waste. What an antiquated approach. Especially now, in our My Culture, in which customers are going to get WHAT they want, WHEN and HOW they want it. Your challenge is to reverse your marketing and become the bull’s-eye. A big, beautiful, juicy target. And the best part is, you don’t have to waste your money AND self-qualified customers come out of nowhere. Cool. Are you aiming or being aimed at?
4.Average. That’s just not going to cut it anymore. And here’s why: Competence is assumed. Competence is the price of entry. And when there are a gazillion other instant choices out there, people have no motivation to pick anything other than the best. Lesson learned: Be amazing or be out of business.
So when starting your own Online Dating Business, you should establish your identity and be an attractive target for your exclusive users. Be smart and profit!
